Our Story

Hi, I’m Jay Esperiquette, owner of Seattle Foundation Inspections. Born and raised in the PNW. I started working for the #1 foundation company in the PNW in 2006 to learn the craft—everything from pouring concrete to ensuring a structure’s long-term stability. I've worked directly with engineers, foundation leveling and repair companies, plumbers, electricians, and general contractors and more. That hands-on experience gave me a deep understanding of what makes a foundation strong and what causes it to fail. Over time, I shifted my focus to the repair side of the industry, where I discovered my true passion: helping homeowners protect their most valuable investment.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen too many homeowners get taken advantage of by shoddy inspections from general home inspectors, overly technical engineers and repair companies. Sometimes costing homeowners tens of thousands of dollars. Vague reports, inflated repair quotes, and a lack of clear guidance often leave families confused and overcharged. That’s why I started SFI—to provide an honest, independent alternative. I deliver a comprehensive foundation report and a detailed repair bid, covering everything from foundation cracks and retaining walls to basement waterproofing, seismic strengthening, crawl space issues, water drainage, and polyurethane foam injection for slabs. My process is thorough: I inspect the county assessor for some history on the home, I measure and map your home, conduct elevation surveys, inspect crawl spaces or basements, and then walk you through every finding, explaining why issues are happening and how to fix them—without the pressure of upselling.
